Editorial Hair Workshop
International makeup artist and hairstylist, Andrea Claire will be stopping by Blur Makeup Room on Sunday July 28th, 2013 for a three hour workshop on hair styling for fashion and editorial work.
Andrea will demonstrate three unique creative hair looks from her portfolio that have won international awards. Focusing on developing a vision and story, Andrea will show students different ways to achieve hair styles using human and synthetic hair wigs and extensions. Andrea will also discuss product, props and tools used to create editorial hair styles.
Photographer Richard Dubois will then provide a demonstration on the process of lighting, shooting and retouching a hair focused image. Following that will be a discussion on the difference between styling hair for an shoot vs. an event and the workflow in the studio.
Students will then have an opportunity to create their own hair styles on mannequin heads (provided by Blur Makeup Room), while being assisted and directed by both Andrea Claire and Richard Dubois. All materials used and mannequin heads and stands will be available for purchase after the workshop, if desired.
The workshop is designed for those with an introductory to intermediate knowledge of hair that are interested in continuing their education. Students are required to bring their own hair kit with products and tools needed for session styling including curling irons, a flat iron, bobby pins and hair spray.
