developed passions for art and nature from a young age. Texture, colours, and the power of transformation and creation always fascinated him. Captivated by the seductive force and contrasting fragility of female beauty,

studied makeup, skincare, and special effects in Florence. GianLuca
began his career in Italy as the protégé of the late celebrity makeup artist Gil Cagné. He learned about the architectural aspects of face and hair, in addition to acquiring Gil’s very distinctive techniques. GianLuca’s
skills, professionalism, and warm
personality,
garnered him a succession of television appearances and fashion shows in Milan, Rome, and Florence. After finding success in Italy,
GianLuca
brought his talent to Canada in search of new challenges. GianLuca’s
insightful, conceptual contributions and technical expertise have been seen in numerous Canadian magazines, such as FASHION, FQ, Glow, Elle Canada, Hello!, and Zoomer. In addition to fashion and beauty editorials,
GianLuca
has worked for many commercial clients, including Sony, CTV, UTV, Rogers, Nivea, Cineplex Odeon, TD Insurance, QuickBooks, Clorox, Gatorade, Mott’s Clamato Juice, and YSL Beauté. It was for YSL Beauté that he worked on a number of occasions with supermodel Coco Rocha. GianLuca
continuously keeps abreast of the newest products and has been a favourite amongst French makeup lines for representation and media events in Toronto, namely, Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, and YSL Beauté.
GianLuca
has also enjoyed working with the English fashion house of Burberry since the Canadian launch of their first makeup line. GianLuca
has also collaborated on set for television programmes such as Canadian Idol, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, and The Shopping Network for Jay Manual Cosmetics. He worked for Canada’s Next Top Model too, where he prepared supermodel Yasmine Warsame.
